Bishopscourt Residents' Association
Bishopscourt is a residential area in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. Bishopscourt was incorporated into the Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality when this was created in 2000.
The suburb lies to the south-east of Table Mountain and enjoys spectacular views of the Cape Peninsula mountains, from Devil’s Peak in the north to Constantia Nek in the south.
Climatically, Bishopscourt experiences a moderate to hot, dry summer, and is relatively sheltered from the south-easterly winds, which prevail at that time of year. The winters are cold and wet, and the full force of the north-westerly winds and storms are to be felt.
Bishopscourt lies within easy reach of centres such as Constantia, Claremont, Newlands, Kenilworth and Wynberg, and major arterial roads such as M3/Edinburgh Drive, Rhodes Drive, Protea Road, and the Main Road. It is served by Golden Arrow bus service.
It is conveniently located in relation to shopping centres, numerous schools, the University of Cape Town, medical facilities and places of worship."
